Organic products from different parts of Nepal, including Karnali Province, are now available in Kathmandu. A new ‘Organic Market’ has opened in Kapan, Budhanilkantha Municipality, to promote and encourage the use of organic agricultural products.
The market offers items such as Marsi rice from Jumla, beans from Humla, millet from Mugu, herbs from Dolpa, and other local foods. It aims to collect and sell organic products directly to consumers from all 753 municipalities across the country.
The initiative also hopes to motivate farmers in Karnali to engage more in farming.
Suman Dahal, the owner of the company, said the market follows the concept of “One Local Level, One Product” to brand and promote local produce.
“Our goal is to support not just Karnali’s products but also items like herbal cosmetics, spices, ginger and garlic paste, handicrafts, and unique local goods from all seven provinces,” Dahal said.
The market is expected to contribute to Nepal’s agricultural growth and rural development in the long run.
